What is the difference between engineered and solid wood flooring?
Engineered wood flooring has a real wood top layer (veneer) bonded to a plywood base, making it more stable and suitable for underfloor heating. Solid wood is a single piece of timber throughout — incredibly durable and can be sanded and refinished many times over its lifetime.
Can wood flooring be installed over underfloor heating?
Yes — engineered wood flooring is ideal for underfloor heating. Most of our engineered range is compatible. Solid wood can be used in some cases but requires careful moisture and temperature management. Our team will advise you on the best option for your setup.
